Google is updating its Android robot logo and wordmark, as reported by 9to5Google. Some of these changes have already been spotted.
The most noticeable change is seen in the Android robot’s head, which is no longer flat but instead now depicted in 3D in official Google marketing materials. Google has showcased various 3D versions of the robot head in different colors and textures, departing from the standard Android green in the I/O 2023 keynote.

Beyond the Android head, the Android wordmark is also changing. After years of using something fully lowercase, this new wordmark begins with the letter “A” being capitalized. The ‘n’ and ‘r’ in this new font are completely rounded. This new lettering is evident in an Android ad spotted by 9to5Google.
Google confirmed that they are implementing these modifications as part of their new brand identity. They have already unveiled some redesign elements in various places, such as their CES booth and digital ads.
